Laughlin Fishing Report and Location Questions
I went down to Laughlin last night and fished from the floating public dock between the bridge to Arizona and the Riverside Casino next to the boat launch ramp.

I was using anchovies, fished bottom, with a plastic line slider loaded up with 4oz of weight.

I fished from approximately 8pm until midnight. In that time I caught 8 striper, but all were throwbacks as the largest was 10 inches long.

I was using a 2/0 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook alternating between whole and chunks of anchovy, tied to the hook and shank with elastic bait thread.

That said:

I'm trying to find larger, keeper size fish

I'm not sure if it's my bait, setup, or location I need to change

Also, I'm looking for other productive places along the river in Laughlin I can fish from that aren't on casino property so I don't get in trouble as I don't own a boat.

Any help is appreciated Fish On

You're in the right area using the right stuff. The water flow has a big impact on whether you catch little ones or big ones.

Good to know. Thanks for the reply. Would you (or anyone reading this for that matter) know anything about fishing Big Bend of the Colorado? I've been reading up on it after NDOW reported it was giving up catfish but I can't find anything about stripers, or if it's legal to access the seemingly perfect to fish from graded road that goes right out into the river bend (https://www.google.com/...1103m/data=!3m1!1e3)

Super early by 8am the bite is over.
20 pound line and your favorite trout swimbait,
The Davis Camp location by the bridge is the place to start.

Wade out from shore and head upsteam by the first curve by the brush on 5he right side.
Early is when the flow is low and trout are stuck in the low flow pools. Big stripers are cruzing the areas for easy meals.

Storm makes a great swimbait.
