Lakes and reservoirs in the northern portion of the Magic Valley Region are beginning to open up from winter. However, access still may be questionable on some waters due to either ice or inaccessible roads. Spring runoff has yet to truly develop.
<br>Anderson Reservoir: Reservoir is filling, inlet is running fairly high. Deer Creek and Pine Creek boat ramps not open yet. Trout and Kokanee fishing is slow.<br>
<br>Carey Lake: Fish are concentrated at the thermal spring inlet south of the boat launch area. Good catch rates of bluegill, bass, and small yellow perch.<br>
<br>Little Camas Reservoir: Road and boat ramp are open. Anglers are catching this years stocked trout. IDFG has tagged trout in this reservoir. Please take notice of signs that direct anglers to deposit a portion of the head into a box if the fish has an adipose fin removed.<br>
<br>Thorn Creek Reservoir: Road is open. The reservoir did not reach full pool. Should be stocked this week - carryover is uncertain given the lack of angler reports so expect to catch this years hatchery trout.<br>
<br>Magic Reservoir: Dam opened on Sunday, May 11. It likely will not fill. A lot of debris coming in from the Big Wood so boaters need to be careful and I would not recommend trying to water ski at this time. Water is very dirty due to runoff and fishing is slow, but the best fishing is on the east side currently. There is not enough water at Moonstone or Hot Springs Landings to put in a boat.<br>
<br>Milner Reservoir: No recent fishing reports however typically Milner Bass fishing is tremendous. Most bass anglers fish from boats on this reservoir.<br>
<br>Mormon Reservoir: The reservoir did not reach full pool and most likely will not this year. No angler reports to date. Scheduled for stocking next week. Vegetation makes the fishery difficult to boat as early as mid-June so hit it early.<br>
<br>Oakley Reservoir: Fishery has been stocked however anglers are having a tough time catching the recent outplants. Some carryover trout are being harvested ranging between 14-16 inches. Walleye bite is slow. IDFG has tagged trout in this reservoir. Please take notice of signs that direct anglers to deposit a portion of the head into a box if the fish has an adipose fin removed.<br>
<br>Riley Creek (below Riley Creek Falls): Good rainbow trout catch rates - some larger spawners close to the mouth of Riley Creek.<br>
<br>Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir: Trout catch rates have reportedly slowed lately and may be related to the turbid water from the snowmelt feeding the reservoir. Walleye bite is moderate. Most anglers were reporting better catch rates on the southern end of the reservoir.
