McCall Subregion Fishing Information
#1
Little Salmon River: Lots of folks fishing, lots of fish hooked (but not necessarily landed) in the last week. The Chinook season will close July 1.
South Fork Salmon River: Only one Chinook showed up in the first three days of the season. This run has been slow in coming since the beginning of it but expectations for the July 4th weekend are running high.

Cascade Lake: Smallmouth bass have been busy taking all kinds of offerings, even topwater gear. Perch fishing has been sporadic but some knowledgeable anglers think this is because the ice was a month late coming off and water is still not warm enough for consistent action. Trout action has been just plain slow so far.

Mountain Lakes: Most as still snowed in, including Brundage and Goose lakes. Upper Payette is accessible but has not yet been planted.

Horsethief Reservoir: Horsethief has been the place to go in the area. Trout fishing has been excellent, and popular, this year.

Local Ponds, Family Fishing Waters: Ponds including Rowland Pond, Fish Lake, Brown's and Cruzen Pond have been stocked and are providing good trout fishing.
