Boyd lake open - utwalleye - 03-23-2019
Boyd lake opened for boating 3-16, I fished it for about 5 hours that morning. Water temp was 37 at launch and 38 when we left. We caught 2 rainbows.
I fished it again on 3-22, launched at 8 am water temp was 40 in the marina and 38 on the lake. Fished the east side in 8.5 fow. Caught my first walleyes of the year.

Nice, looks like some good eaters you caught there, I'm surprised you did so well with the water temp that cold. What were you using to catch them?

Yeah I was surprised also sense the weather had changed quite a bit from Thursday to Friday and the water temp is still pretty cold. All three of them were caught about 15 feet apart, I may have found a good spawning spot. I’ll just have to fish it more.
