Fishing the Uintah's - nope - Cowboypirate - 06-14-2019
Last Saturday, cookie and I made a pilgrimage to Whitney in the Uintahs to check out our spot for our first camp trip and maybe tie into a few zillatrout.
Instead of fishing however, I spend four hours digging my truck out of a snow drift. You would think at this age I would know better. There is a lot a snow left to come down but I got to get me some grayling. ( the grayling are in Whiskey Island not Whitney, but that is our base for wanders) so I will try again tommarow with my UTV.
If you dont hear from me in a week send a plane over with some beef jerky and saltines. And someone tell my wife to stop rolling her eyes.

So those were your tracks in that drift? I didn't feel near as bad getting stuck in it knowing someone else had tried the same thing. Our adventure was Wednesday. We did have 5 bull elk cross the road infront of us before the drift. Glad you got out safe

I consider it a sacred and honored duty to show people the best places to get stuck and lose a day of fishing. I can offer up GPS coordinates to any willing to break out thier shovel and handy man jack

Cowboy i know that area like the back of my hand,and you had a pretty good drive to get to the lake . But nothing is impossible and the faster you hit the snow drift the better the story gets , so next time get a bigger run at it and dont let off ,till you hit the dirt.

You know "if you didn't get stuck, you didn't go far enough". Maybe that's why my wife stopped going with me until I got a boat.
