Morning surprise - Sharknado - 08-28-2020

[Image: C608482-C-57-F6-40-A1-BC47-48-D4-B4-F403-A5.jpg]Spent a couple hours this morning floating around Salem Pond with my brother. He just got himself a float tube and a fly rod set up. DragEd buggers around so he could get used to the tube and fly fishing. He wound up catching 8 to my 7 (should of tied on that color myself). All little stockers til I hooked one that really pulled back. After a few minutes of give and take up pops this Wiper. Boy the sure pull hard compared to the stock trout in there. Tuesday also fished there by my self and netted a 18in rainbow that didn’t take half as long to net. Another fish to check off bucket list.

Very nice, go to Willard and pull some baitfish patterns on a intermediate sink, the Wipers and Crappie are a lot of fun.

That's a very pleasant surprise! Wipers (aka hybrids) are the hardest fighting fish out there! We would catch them up to 15 lbs when I lived in KY...talk about a fight! Fun!

Rumor says that a potential state record wiper may have been caught at Otter Creek recently.  15lbs in Utah isn't out of the question...

While you're at Willard, make sure you bounce Chrystal buggers off the dike.  Nothing better than catfish on a flyrod.
