][][] I just got a phone call from a buddy who was out looking for local marlin and swordfish today. Guess what.....he hooked an estimated 500lb. swordie off Catalina. He said the fight only lasted about 30 minutes after the swordie just about spooled his 50 wide full on 80lb. line in 30 seconds. He then backed down on the fish and got some line back. The the fish started putting on a huge acrobatic show for the boat until it finally broke the leader. WHAT A HUGE BUMMMMMER!!!!
I just hope the first swordfish that I hook isn't 500lbs. and doesn't ruin me like this one did him.
He is still out fishing. I will let you know if he has any other luck.

Ahh well the fishings one that round..bet he had fun all the same.Thanks for the info Milo will head that way this weekend have 4 days off cant wait to get on the water.
