Fishing, over all, is fair on Old Hickory lake. Bream are slow right now but a few are being caught on crickets and mill worms in shallow water. Crappie fishing is scattered, they are in 5-15 foot of water with a few being caught on minnows and jigs. Saugers are hitting on minnows and jigs with the best fishing being above the 231 bridge. Rockfish are picking up , most are being caught in deep water near the steam plant on live shad and skip jacks. Catfish are slow, a few being caught on nightcrawlers around the Gallatin Steamplant.
The headwater elevation is 444.90 [#000000]feet above mean sea level, and the tailwater is 386.90 feet above M.S.L. The lake water is a little cloudy. [/#000000]The surface water temperature at the Rockland fishing pier is around 50 degrees, and at five feet the water temperature is holding around 50 degrees.
