Fished the SW end of American Falls Reseroir today for about 45 minutes. I didn't have a bite but it was nice to get out for a few minutes. I talked to some other anglers that had been there for several hours. From what I could tell the catch rate for most anglers was less than 1 fish every two hours. Now that American Falls is almost full (1.15' from full) the fish can really spread out.
Surface temp was about 45 degrees. I did find some shallow water that was 51 degrees. I don't plan on fishing it much for rainbows until latter this summer. The carp and smallmouths should start to become a little more active in a couple weeks.
