The proclamation won't mention jugging, but if you read the Fishing Methods section of the proclamation ([url "http://www.wildlife.utah.gov/proclamations/2003_fishing/2.html#fishing"]http://www.wildlife.utah.gov/proclamations/2003_fishing/2.html#fishing[/url]) it states the legal methods.[/size][/blue] [blue][size 2]The advantage of juggin' is that you can set a dozen or two jugs out and pass your time moving among them checking for fish. In Utah you get a max of two lines on certain waters, so you might as well just cast them out and watch both poles.[/size][/blue] Re: [DennisW] JUGS - southernman - 03-20-2003 i cant imagine they would let you trot-line in utah if they rarely even let you use 2 poles . . . we used to do this in the midwest when we were kids for catfish and carp, and the occasional pike . . alot of families living on the illinois river still do this for their daily meal . . and if you mess with their milk jugs, LOOKOUT! sm [signature] Re: [FishFearMe] JUGS - Kayote - 03-20-2003 No, it's not legal in Utah. In waters you can use set lines (a jug is considered a setline), one end of the line must be attached to the bank. You can find this on page 9 of the proclamation (B. Fishing Methods, 3. Setline Fishing, Subsection 6. [signature] |
