[cool][#0000ff]Good report. Looks like the extra water in the lake is agreeing with the fish. Sure looks like they have been dining well on those minnows.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Purty fish. Ugly angler...at least the old guy. Tommy is a good lookin' kid. What did your mailman look like?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We (Kent and I) are gonna be at Huntington on Monday. Hope you didn't sore lip all of the tigers.[/#0000ff]

Re: [TubeDude] E-Lake 6-2-07 - fuzzyfisher - 06-03-2007

yeah that old dude is kind-a ugly aint he [sly]..

nop dude i have not put the hurting on the tigers for 2 weeks now.. lol so ya should be allright this time.. lol

the real funny thing today was i cought a planter rainbow that was all of 6 inches long but was 3" wide.. and fat, looked like it was going to explode.. lol wish i would have thought and snaped a pic of it...

alot of the fish i cought today looked like the same fish as always at E-lake.. but i did have one that was just as big as the big cutt up to the boat and tryed to bounce it and pulled the hook..lol so out of the 15 to 20 fish i got today 3 were in good shape.. i hope they stay that way..

E-lake is looking up!!

when i get back from Minnasota i'm going to pull the camper up and spend some time on E-lake and see just what i can find there..

Hey Ron,

I sent you an e-mail, but I thought I'd include my message here too. You’ve helped me out before on what to use at EL, and I hope you don’t mind giving me some more information now.

I noticed you caught a lot of your fish trolling. I do have a small aluminum boat, but I don’t have a trolling motor, just my main motor. I’ve caught plenty of fish over the past few years by suspending a dead minnow below a bobber on EL close to shore, but do you think it’s too late in the year to do the same thing now? I also have used a minnow off the bottom with a Corky and have had success. I also have some proven crankbaits to throw up and around the shore from my boat, and I’m hoping by fishing with minnows and using the cranks I might be successful up there.

I’m taking a coworker who has never caught a fish bigger than a little planter trout before, so I’d like him to get into some frequent and nicer fish. We also decided on EL due to its incredible scenery.

If you don’t mind could you give me some pointers? Should I stick with what I’ve told you or try some new tactics (suggested by you [Wink])? As always, I appreciate your kind help.

Thanks,

Re: [PrinceFisher] E-Lake 6-2-07 - fuzzyfisher - 06-06-2007

well Shawn. i was trolling to test out some new costom blades i made up for Mac fishing. so the first 20 min's or so i was playing with the blades see how they were working and all.. thats when tommy cought his fish.. [sly]

and that was on a sling-blade and a squid bait left on the rod from FG he just put a worm on it.. [cool] show's what i know i said he should change it. he said no he wanted to see it how it worked and i'll just put a worm on it.. well it work.

E-lake can be a jeckl&hide lake for bait fishing.. but the minnows will catch fish any day and most any time as well.. i have found i the morning's use a bubble put the Bait down 5 to 10 feet. fish it 10 to 15 feet off the shour. later in the day put it on the bottom in about 15 to 25 feet of water.. in a boat even better go to the east side find a spring throw the minnow right up into the head of the spring and let it drift back to the deeper water.. work's great most days..
i have been getting alot more fish this year doing the same thing but with tube jigs.. salt and pepper 2" 1/4 oz head.. just cast it out close to shour and play with it tell you find what they want.. or you can just put some cut minnoew's on the tube and jig right off the bottom 10 to 20 feet deep..

trolling at E-Lake is a sure fire fish gitter.. small pop gere and worm or minnow will allways work. if your like me and dont like pulling the gear and want to cover more ground troll a yo-ziry.. that blue and silver bow i was useing up ther was doing good all day long.. troll fast 2.5 or better. downrigges work good for keeping ya down where ya want it. but leaded line works good as well just harder to contol.. every time i got the boat in 45 to 30 feet of water and could keep it there i would hook up.. get close to the shour works best most days.. 25 feet deep was the sweet spot for them sunday..

what day are ya going? i'm going to finish up this job in minnasota tomorow and be home for the weekend. i'm thinking of heading up and camping for the weekend or more.. lol

Re: [fuzzyfisher] E-Lake 6-2-07 - PrinceFisher - 06-06-2007

Thanks once again for the help. To answer your question, we are planning an early morning Saturday trip. I know it's free fishing day, and that's partly the reason we're going because my friend from work isn't sure he wants to commit to a year-long fishing license. I figure if we leave Utah County at 6 a.m. and strike out in the boat once we arrive at E. Lake, we should be able to distance ourselves from most of the crowds.

I know of a spring or two running into the lake, on the opposite side of the lake from the boat launch. Near one in particular is where I've had some decent luck in the past. I believe we'll hit the spring in the early a.m. and toss out some minnows below a bob and see what kind of excitement ensues.

I have a small 14-foot aluminum boat with a white Sears motor on the back. There will likely be just two of us in the boat, but I may bring one of my sons. If you see a small craft and crew matching that description, swing on by and say Howdy.
