With a truck or high clearance vehicle you might try accessing Mojave through Nelson and down to Placer or Aztec coves. I've seen VW Bugs there, a rough rock strewn dirt road in places and few markers.

Far as live bait goes... nothing around Vegas except maybe Blue Cove Marine on Lake Mead Blvd near Nellis.

Welcome to the board! The only live bait I've ever bought in Vegas was feeder goldfish at a Tropical Fish store. No kidding! Desperation made me do it. It was an interesting experience. Never repeated it.

Sorry, can't help you with shore fishing on Lake Mojave, never did it. However, as the water temp. drops in Lake Mead shore fishing usually improves. During the winter, shore fishing the trout plants can be very productive.

Yeah, I noticed that too, BaySport. The stripers seem a lot more aggressive in winter "cooler" waters. Why is that? Strictly a temperature thing or does it deal with the lack of shad during the colder months?

Best regards,
