Fly of the week - Dryrod - 11-05-2007

[cool][#005028]The Knudsen White Streamer reportedly is a killer [#005028]for winter steelies. What do you think?[/#005028][/#005028][#005028] Sort of reminds me of a damsel wearing a sleek sliver gown and a white mink & a red scarf. LOl[/#005028]

[green][cool]Oh yes that's me. Thought that I would get a jump on filling my Christmas order list. Grew the beard just for the ocassion. LOL BTW I down loaded a bunch of fly fishing Xmas card scenes to use as a desk top. I one down loads [free] the Webshot DeskTop your screen will change periodically. Here is one of them. Rather cool. Also can have a calendar that changes daily.[/green] [green]BTW it is okay to say God & Merry Christmas on the Fly boards and what ever else that has been banned in schools. I hope that my fellow Mods share the same views.

[#500000][cool][/#500000][#000000]Perhaps my comments were taken out of context. What I really should have said that since we all may not be of the Christian persuasion I would hope that everyone would be tolerant of each other views. Like my neighbor who is Jewish & his wife a Christian they display both religious decorations during the winter holidays. I will wish him a Happy Hanukkah & he will wish me a Merry Christmas. Additional when I send Xmas cards out, I send my Jewish friend a Seasons greeting card. BTW no one has yet to say that the stores should not display Christmas decorations since they don’t celebrate Xmas.[/#000000]

Re: [Dryrod] Fly of the week - macfly55 - 11-07-2007

... I took your comment pretty much at face value.. we are moving into that season and it will be common place for comments to go back and forth.. the mods that I have met on boards of this type have always been tolerant and in the spirit of the season so I am sure it will not be any different here..

... it is funny that you post that comment on the stores.. we all know that it is commercialism and capitalism that runs that show.. but I have heard murmurs about the times square tree again and lately heard a news story that said stores in England are putting their Santas on a weight control and fitness program.. seems they think the "jolly ol elf" is too heavy and is sending the "wrong message" to the kids.. Id say this is a perfect example of taking "PC" to far.. if stores etc keep this up all of our traditions will be gone because someone would not take a stand and call a big BS on most of the PC abounding in our society.. just my .02 .. Yes![shocked] It's that time again to get the shopping done and have some fun at the Malls.

Sorry to say, but I'm going fishing. While my wife is out shopping.[cool]

I usually only take stocking stuffer type of things. How many Sporting goods Gift Certificates can you stuff in the average stocking?[cool]

..you took the words out of my mouth DR... in my case I have been sending my wife and girls hints via email that has a document attached that has links to the items I am interested in.. :-).. my youngest laughs and says she has always loved my lists.. I look at it this way.. a list with pictures and links and such removes doubt... especially in the internet era...
