Minidoka Dam? - superslammer - 11-28-2007

Ice fishing is getting closer. I moved back to Rupert and am wondering if anyone has had any luck ice fishing Minidoka Dam and/or Oakley Res? I finally got me a powered auger and an ice hut and am ready to go. Some guy was moving to North Dakota and I bought it from his yard sale for a smokin deal. Any thought on these areas would be great and if anybody wants to go ice fishing with me would be great.

I headed out to the Dam on Wednesday to check it out. No ice at all on the Lake. There is ice in the canals and by some rocks. If we stay this cold the ice might start forming. I will keep it posted.

I've never fished either but would like to try them. Too many places and just not enough time to fish everywhere I would like. Walcott does have a few nice bows. Might not catch many at Walcott but I would hope the size would make up for it. I would expect Walcott to freeze later than most places. American Falls sometimes has a lot of open water in early January. I would expect Walcott's ice to be similar to American Falls. If I'm headed over that way I'll let you know.

I would also like to fish Salmon Falls Creek and Magic this winter. If your interested in either of those I'll let you know when I'm headed to them.
