Lake Mohave Sunday - striperdude - 02-13-2008
Headed for Willow beach @ 5am with my buddy and arrived around 6:45. Took a little longer to get there than I thought. Trolled Willow beach area for almost 2 hours with no action. Went to mile marker 42 and caught 3 1/2 pounder in 70 feet of water trolling along a massive sheer cliff. went to Placer cove as well as Aztec cove and trolled all day without another fish. back at the dock around 5pm we talked to several other fisherman. Only found one other guy with a fish. It was a slow fishing day but weather wise it was awesome. The only fish caught on my boat was reeled in by a nine year old and he loved it. Probably head back out to Lake mead next week

70 feet? Were you using downriggers? I need to check out that Willow Beach action someday. I've fished Lake Mojave (Cottonwood Cove) on my boat once for small stripers but have never lanched at Willow Beach. Have to put that on the "Bucket List". [

We always fish Willow Beach and fishing really good until hot weather, then fish at night for the bigguns

Ive never had much luck out at willow, but I haven't spent much time there. I've done well at cottonwood, but never actually tried fishing for stripers on Lake MO-JAVE.
