WHAT FULL MOON? - TubeDude - 05-18-2003 [cool]The weather in Arizona yesterday was hot and sunny. Second day in a row it went over 100 degrees. The good news is that the fish count went somewhere over 200...for both TubeBabe and myself,,,in spite of the myth of the full moon. Full story and pics on the float tubing board at [url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=45090;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread"]http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=45090;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread[/url] Also, for those who know and appreciate Stugeon Kid...formerly of Utah and now living in California...he just got a lake record 10.3# bass on a little lake near where he lives. Story and a pic of that toad are at [url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=45082;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread"]http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=45082;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread[/url] ATTENTION: POLOKID: You might wanna check the pics on the first link. One of them shows that the lake has been "stocked" for your upcoming visit. TubeDude. [signature] Re: [TubeDude] WHAT FULL MOON? - DennisW - 05-18-2003 Stocked? ...or stacked? Re: [DennisW] WHAT FULL MOON? - TubeDude - 05-18-2003 [cool]You wanna buy a vowel? I purposely avoided that little play on words, just to see if you would jump in and help me out. Not to divulge too much, but when PK comes down next month, his itinery includes some "tubing" of the non-fishing kind (depending on what you are fishing for). Of course, for an old married guy like me, I will not be participating in those recreational endeavors. Go to [url "http://home.earthlink.net/~fmbrown/tubing/"]http://home.earthlink.net/~fmbrown/tubing/[/url] and be sure to check out the Scrapbook Photos button. Can you imagine casting a BWO on a prime stretch of the Provo and having some of those raft flotillas bearing down on you? [signature] Re: [TubeDude] WHAT FULL MOON? - Teroy - 05-19-2003 I really need to get stationed in Arizona. I have been triyng to make up my mind for the last few months trying to decide between Luke and Davis Monthan and I think the "stacked" lakes just confirmed it LOL [signature] Re: [Teroy] WHAT FULL MOON? - TubeDude - 05-19-2003 [cool]Hey, Teroy, I'm sure you will make your own decisions for your own reasons, but I can offer some insight if you wanna PM me. I lived in Tucson for several years before moving up to Phoenix. As with anything, there are plusses and minuses in living anywhere. From a fishing standpoint, there are a lot more waters within an hour's drive of Phoenix (Luke) than there are in Tucson (DM). Afraid I can't be a real good source of information on the best "stacked" waters though. TubeBabe revoked my "hunting" license. And, as "conservative" as Utah is, most fishermen have their stories of "good scenery" on the local waters. I almost got run over by a whole flotilla of the power squadron on Pineview once, while trying to get my float tube across an arm of the lake. Seems a young lady was water skiing, and her family was so poor she couldn't afford a top to her swimming suit. Sure were a lot of folks running along with her shouting encouragement and offering immoral support. If you do locate in Arizona, you will have to buddy up with someone who knows the drill at Lake Havasu. It has become legendary for over-the-top frivolity upon the waters. A serious fisherman doesn't have a chance on Havasu once the rowdies wake up and hit the water. If the bow wakes don't get you the "eye strain" will. It seems there are no boundaries on Havasu. And then there is Mexico...only a four hour drive to "Rocky Point". Easy border crossings, miles of beach and warm water, great fishing and all night partying on the beach during the spring break...before the hot days of summer settle in. Yeah, I gotta get back to Utah, though. Either that or get a pacemaker. Too many "heavenly visions" can be bad for an old man's health. Lots of fish, warm/hot weather and good looking women. I am sold, where do I sign??? Count me in. I will get in touch with you, thanks for the tube info on the salt river and the great fishing report, hopefully in the next few weeks, I can add my insite on those reports coming from AZ!!!
