HR45, Be Prepared - wiperhunter2 - 02-05-2009

Here we go... HR45; Be Prepared

God help us -- I received this yesterday from a friend.

This is complete and utter B.S.!!!!! We gotta fight this!!!!!!! We all
need to get off our butts and write our Representatives, renew our NRA
memberships and start openly voicing our opinions!!!!

Regardless of whether or not you are a gun owner or not, please read and
pass along to others in a timely manner.

You probably are well aware of the pending firearms legislation...but I
thought you might be interested in the event if you haven't seen it
already.

Read this then click on the link to open the actual bill.

Here's the first bill introduced in the house that mandates licensing
for all firearms owners:

-You will have to carry a photo ID firearms license.

-A training class is required to be licensed.

-Disclosure of your storage method is required for license.

-A thumb print is required for license.

-Every sale recorded by the federal government.

-If you move, and don't tell the Attorney General within 60 days, you
are a criminal.

-If a firearm is stolen and you don't report it, you are a criminal.

-There will be no grandfathered firearms.

-If you do not obtain a license and report every firearm you currently
own, you are a criminal.

-There will be a license fee and a fee for the "services" provided at
purchase time.

Licenses must be renewed every 5 years.`
[#ff0000]For some reason, I can't get the link to go to the right place that shows this new bill. I'll try and get it working later.[/#ff0000]

I doubt they expect this to pass. What is dangerous, however, is that they are trying to push the line farther to the left. Make this preposterous proposal, then back off it and 'compromise' by making it less stringent, but more stringent than what we have now.

Everyone sighs a collective sigh of relief because the horrible version was tabled, but what is there now is still more restrictive.

Then, rinse, and repeat this scenario over and over until eventually the end result is no gun rights.

The frog thrown into hot water jumps out, but the one put in mild water that is increased in temperature little by littel will boil him alive.

Alot of these laws are on the books here in Ct. The NRA didn't help us much up here. [frown] Lets just hope it doesn't get worse.

You are so right and I hope it never happens but I'm sure that is the point behind this bill. They start big and ware us down until they pass some form of it in the future[unimpressed].
