You know if it wasn't for having to pay the bills, our full time job would be to simply travel around Nevada and fish all of the desert reservoirs, lakes and streams.
If anyone out there has their own personal stories or information on Nevada fishing - please check out fishthewest.com. It's a great site that is documenting real area fishing. Fishing that is off the beaten path of the freeway.
As always, Pyramid Lake is the best Cutthroat Trout fishing there is, but hurry and go cause the lake closes end of July till October 1. If you miss out on Pyramid, try some of the other hotspots like Squaw Creek Reservoir. Awesome rainbows...since NDOW just stocked 3500 rainbows and 1500 browns.

Hi fishing the west: Do you know of the most used fly pattern for the cutts in Pyramid? I have heard lots stories about the history of the cutts making their spawning runs up the Truckee and how the daming put a dent in their existence. Just a couple of years ago they thought the large strain (20 lbs) cutts was gone. Now they think they might have found a few individuals up in the Truckee headwaters. I wouldn't mind tooling out in the lake with my tube.
