Friday, August 7, 9:00 p.m., at the campground amphitheater. All About Bears!
The word "bear" brings many different images to people's minds.<br />
Some think of teddy bears, some think of Smokey the Bear, and a few think of that large bruin that raided their campsites one summer.<br />
Whatever the image, we often misunderstand theses large creatures. Learn All About Bears through an introduction and short film.

Wildflower Walk.<br />
Do you enjoy wildlife? Without wildflowers and a variety of different kinds of habitat, Wild River State Park wouldn't have all the kinds of wildlife we do. This short hike will travel at a relaxed pace to visit examples of the prairie habitat and wildflowers which the park is working to restore.

Fascinating Fungi.<br />
LeslieJo Meyerhoff, a self-taught educator who passes the test for knowing mushrooms well - she's been eating them for years and is still alive - provides an illustrated talk and a wealth of personal experience about the world of fungi in our forests and prairies.
Saturday, August 8, 8:00 p.m., at the Amphitheater. Iron Chef: Campfire Edition Tired of the same old boring campfire foods? Or do you think you are a campfire connoisseur? Join us for dessert in an Iron Chef style competition. Sign up ahead of time at the Visitor Center or arrive 15 minutes early to be a judge or on your own team of chefs. Or just come to watch and share cooking tips! Following the main event, everyone will have a chance to try their skill at making some creative cuisine.
Sunday, August 9, 11:00 a.m., at the visitor center. Slithery Snakes!<br />
Are snakes slithery, sneaky, and slimy? Or are they cool, quiet, and cautious? Learn about the snakes found in this park, see live examples (Ripley, a 5 3/4 foot bull snake, and Winnie the garter snake), and touch - if you dare - a representative of this fascinating group of animals. Feeding time is after the program, for those who want to watch.
