STELLWAGEN BANK,MA-Cod Fishing 1/30/01 - bfast - 01-31-2001
This past Wednesday 1/24, Yong Chun's group from<br>Englewood, NJ and friend Saul Sung experienced some <br>the best cod fishing of the season. Medium cod from<br>8-12 pounds nailed the jigs and teaser rigs on<br>Stellwagen's shoal water. The first drift lasted<br>two hours with the anglers banging doubles all the<br>way. Six steakers over twenty and a few pollock<br>rounded out the catch. On Saturday 1/27, Ed Estien's<br>group from Long Island City, NY made their second trip<br>to the bank in two weeks. A slow drift made fishing<br>with difficult. Nevertheless, stopping right on top of<br>the piles of herring and using light jigs enabled the<br>group to fill all the coolers with 8 to 12 pound cod and a few pollock.<br><br>Capt.
