[signature] Re: [macfly55] in need of an extra float tube... - cpierce - 10-06-2010 I don't know if they still have them, but Costco was carrying the Fish Cat 4 for $140. [signature] Re: [macfly55] in need of an extra float tube... - cpierce - 10-06-2010 There are also the WW Griggs tubes http://www.fishinrods.com/floattube.htm or go to the Griggs site and see if a dealer is close to you. [sly] MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [cpierce] in need of an extra float tube... - macfly55 - 10-06-2010 anyone know how good/reliable the griggs tubes are.. I may of missed it but I did not see a description of materials.. MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [macfly55] in need of an extra float tube... - cpierce - 10-06-2010 I don't really know how good they are. I know that Sportsman's Warehouse used to carry them, and I have seen them there. I would assume that they are pretty light materials-- I would treat them as "delicate". You might try phoning or emailing the company. http://www.wwgrigg.com/wwg021.htm Seems like I have seen them mentioned on the Float tube forum in the past. I can't remember if it was good or not. [signature] Re: [macfly55] in need of an extra float tube... - cpierce - 10-06-2010 I would consider the Grigg v8000 tube that is more like the Fish Cat in design with an inflatable seat. Albino Trout got a used 6000 u tube by Grigg for his nephew. I think this model doesn't have an inflatable seat and you sit lower in the water. You might contact him on the materials. Thread was here: http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=589328;search_string=grigg;#589328 Grigg mostly makes fishing rods and from what I have heard they are good quality. Doesn't mean anything though. It is probably good for a $150 tube. Might be light enough to double as a pack or travel tube for you. [signature] Re: [cpierce] in need of an extra float tube... - macfly55 - 10-06-2010 thank you for the info cindy.. I have in my mind a quality tube that is priced above my budget.. LOL... in reality whatever I get for this Thanksgivings fishing will be left behind with me.. soooooo I was hoping to end up with a better (newer) tube than I have as the primary and the one I have as the seconddary... but.. have not given up hope yet ... :-)... maybe I can talk tuben2 out of his h3 for 200... :-) MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [macfly55] in need of an extra float tube... - cpierce - 10-06-2010 Didn't Larry Tullis have an H3 for sale? I wonder if he still has it. http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/Float_Tube_Fishing_C66/Float_Tubing_General_F81/gforum.cgi?post=616503;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread [signature] Re: [cpierce] in need of an extra float tube... - macfly55 - 10-06-2010 yes he did... I texted him the other day but got no response.... may have to try an actual call.. LOL.. MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [cpierce] in need of an extra float tube... - flygoddess - 10-06-2010 No, that was actually an old list, I didn't notice and catch that. In Fact I bought that H3 and I believe Gibby has it now. I didn't know Tubin2 bought one. [signature] Re: [flygoddess] in need of an extra float tube... - macfly55 - 10-06-2010 if I am not mistaken tuben2 bought one of the ones TD had up for sale a while back... I tried to nab that one but did not have the funds (as usual) so missed out on it.. MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [flygoddess] in need of an extra float tube... - macfly55 - 10-06-2010 so are you saying Larry never had the h3 up for sale.. or did I miss something here.. LOL... MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [macfly55] in need of an extra float tube... - flygoddess - 10-06-2010 He did, I bought it, I sold it the first of the year to Gibby.\ Oh, got the rod and reel a few minutes ago...looks great, thanks man.
