This is kind of a backwards question...... "how deep are the inshore tautog?" that's like asking "how shallow are the deep water grouper?"

I'd say if they are inshore, they are pretty shallow. [sly] Just saying.....

If your talking blackfish, we find them in 10-25ft of water.Look for rocks or jettys.

Sandworms of course work well too. Never used lures for blacks, just worms and crabs.
