i havent fished for them very much but i'm wondering if you can catch them on top water like buzz baits and small spooks and stuff? thanks

I'll be interested in answers too.
Last week I went to High Rock Lake here in North Carolina to go Crappie fishing, and caught white bass like crazy. Then the other day I went out for White bass and only caught Crappie![reply][/reply]

Top water white bass fishing is very effective at least here in Minnesota. Any poppers with a quick popping retrieve seems to be the most effective. Theyll bite all day and even after missing with the initial strike. For best results, fish shallow water (1-6 feet) with a medium action rod with a quicker retrieving spinning reel. Have fun!
