New pontoon owner - muddydogs - 08-16-2011

Picked up a Sportsmans Warehouse 9 foot pontoon boat which I believe is a Outcast Fish Cat 9. Picked it up for a great price off the local KSL classifieds. Looks like I will have to rework the rear deck as it tends to make a bunch of noise and rattle. Other then that the tube is in near new shape. Where can I get parts for the rest of the anchor system, it just has the anchor pulley under the motor mount so I need to rig one up that I can use from the seat.

Any good first time pontoon lakes around Ogden. I am thinking Causey or Lost Creek. I need to get the wife into some fish even if its pan fish as she has yet to catch anything out of a tube. To keep her interested I really need to get her a fish or two.

Mantua (bluegills, LMB's, trout) and PV (smallmouth bass and maybe a Tiger Muskies) are great starts.

PM me if you need to know what works from a toon at these places!

Lost Creek is wonderful from a pontoon. As for parts, Ace has pulleys and Sportsman's carries the anchors and the hardware.
Let me know how you like anchoring. I have done it once.

Don't forget your PFD at all times. A whistle is a good idea as well or a horn.
