so i recently went to bass pro, and picked out myself some stuff for xmas since mom couldnt find anything for me, i picked these out [url "http://www.basspro.com/Shimanoreg;-Saharareg;-FD-Spinning-Reels/product/102801/89425?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAIL"]http://www.basspro.com/Shimanoreg;-Saharareg;-FD-Spinning-Reels/product/102801/89425?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAIL[/url] in 3000 model, and this [url "http://www.basspro.com/Temple-Fork-Outfitters-Gary-Loomis-Signature-Series-Freshwater-Spinning-Rods/product/10210431/139732"]http://www.basspro.com/Temple-Fork-Outfitters-Gary-Loomis-Signature-Series-Freshwater-Spinning-Rods/product/10210431/139732[/url], in 6'6 ml, is this good for reds or trout, i wanted something i could use for bass and striped bass, as well as redfish and sea trout is this idea for skimming the flats in a kayak or ?

I have that reel and I'm satisfied with it for the price. I'd get a med rod not a ML as you want to use it for bigger fish as well as trout. Don't use it for stripers over 20"
All told, looks like a great christmas gift.
