New Tie - flygoddess - 12-21-2011 I was thumbing through a recent issue of American Angler and saw this picture ![]() It described it as Algae effect. Well, heck we have a bunch of lakes around here that get that! So, I looked at my supplies and realized I can probably duplicate this. ![]() Now I do have to wait to try this out, but I am excited. It is amazing how effective blue flies are. [signature] Re: [flygoddess] New Tie - thebug - 12-23-2011 very interesting what did you use [signature] Re: [thebug] New Tie - flygoddess - 12-23-2011 TMC 200R in 12 to 20. I use lead substitute wire in the Thorax area. Body is Ultra thin wire Cobalt Blue, and Uni-Mylar in Peacock (orange on the other side) in size #14. When tying the mylar in, have it orange side up. Thorax is Chartreuse Midge Diamond Braid wrapped, but a dubbing could work too. Coat with SHHAN.
