Automatic reel vs standard reel - CaptainFishless - 03-28-2012 Ok, I have been going through my newly acquired fly fishing gear and have come across a dilemma. I only have one reel that is hand crank, and that is on my...less than top of line rod. I do, however, have a few old auto reels that I am curious about. What are the pros and cons of slapping an automatic reel on my rod as compared with a traditional reel? What do most avid fly fishermen(Or women!) prefer to use themselves? I prefer a reel I can adjust the drag which is changing depending on how much line is out, or palming the reel [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Automatic reel vs standard reel - dhowcruise - 09-08-2012 Am also feeling that there is no advantages of auto reel ? I used this yacht charters dubai but i htink there is no difference ? [signature] |
