fly tying with Finish Nails

[#0060bf]Firts step[/#0060bf]:>[Image: bobwink.gif]Find a finish nail of your choice for weight
[#00ff00]2nd[/#00ff00]..The head of the nail should be close to the eye of the hook.Wrap your line just under the head of the nail and back through the eye of hook,this keeps it from sliding off..
[#bf0000]3rd[/#bf0000]..Find hook of choice,I'm using eagle claw straight shank barbless..size 6
[#bfbf00]Finally[/#bfbf00]..I tied some dyed deer hair to the shank of the hook towards the eye.After you tie the fly to the shank make sure to leave enough string to go back through the eye of the hook then wrap some more around the fly and tie it off.

TIPS:
Make sure to pass your line back through the eye of the hook a few times after,this will keep the fly from sliding down your hook..
Use thin line when securing the fly this way you can still tie on easily,

nothing better than cheap homemade flies..P.S.
I got the deer hair from my buddies house so its still home made[sly]

that picture ..is that you trying to fish with two rods..lol
Using two rods..If you put the reel handle on the other side on one reel and tape the knobs together its much easier..
been there done that ..I'll make a video..
This way you can reel in two fish at once! [:p]

awesome...thank you .. makes much more sense to me now and can see how easy this fly can be tied... :-)

If you are talking my profile picture.. that is my grand daughter... she has one pole in her hand pulling on it like she has moby dick on it and its just caught on a log.. the other rod is an extra leaning atains the fence...

There is a difference in "fishing a fly" and "fly fishing"[Smile]

So, still not getting the idea of a nail. Cheap weight? There are weighted lines.

[frown]Cheap Pauly I guess you can say....you can also cast this on 4lb line which is how I caught that fish..

I do fish that at the end of my fly line as is.
The rusty nail is cause of the bay,but a new nail is shiny and attractive to the fish I must say..
These P-bass go crazy for it,hooked a couple just inches from the bank..that was cool.
Largemouth like it as well resembles a juvenile P-bass, thats the reason for the color..Have a nice catch, Paul

Well the fly works well down here although its south florida I don't see why it wouldn't catch something up north.
I just tied a three rig of these same flies on the flyrod
Now I'm almost affraid to get my line wet[Image: scaredworried.gif]

That is not a fly rod, nor fly line. You are spin fishing a fly, not fly fishing[Smile]
