Just curious if anyone has been by strawberry recently to see ice conditions? Lookin forward to some ice-off slammin and curious how far out we are before we get some fishable open water. Thanks

I drove up to Renegade yesterday. The road has a lot of snow on it and I had to have 4 wheel drive in the whole time. After the snow storm today it might be pretty nasty up there. That side was 96% capped still. I drove up to the damn on the Soldier Creek side also and that is mostly capped besides the part next to highway 40. There is a little bit of open water on chicken creek east although it is probably to shallow to fish.There was a few people fishing the Ladders although there wasn't much open water there either. I'm pretty sure next weekend will be shoulder to shoulder up there. Here is a pic of a Cutt I caught.

Went uop today looking for some fishing. I did not go to the meadows, but I did the HWY 40 and Soldier Creek side. This cold weather has not helped or moved it along. It is not worth the drive. We found very very little open water (like @ 3 small spots). It will be a wasted trip if you drive up right now. I know. I just wasted one.
