Uintas in the Rain 9-15-13 - TroutMan93 - 09-16-2013 Well headed up to the Uintas today for some alone time and some fishing. Stopped to get the permit since I really didn't know where I would end up and forgot I left my phone on the hood of my car and drove away and it busted...this is twice in one month. After some choice words to myself I headed for my hike. The lake I hit up first I missed two and left. Stopped at Lily for a couple minutes then left. I was going to fish the Upper Provo but decided to make a detour at Trial...glad I did. Caught 10 Tigers ranging in size from 8-15". 6 came in on a Black and Red Zonker, 3 on a Irresistible Adams and one on a RC Killer Hot Head from TD. Rained the whole day but damn it felt good to be out after almost one month of no fishing. Loove fishing in the rain, just the Uinta's tend to get a little electrical. What weight fly rod and how does that RC Killer cast? One last question, how do the lakes look up there (like (Washington) [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Uintas in the Rain 9-15-13 - TroutMan93 - 09-16-2013 I started with my 2wt and an Irresistible Adams but switched to my 4wt for the buggers, zonker and Rc Killer. The RC Killer casts very well...especially into the wind. I thought I would have some problems because how light it is but I didnt have any. I didn't make it to Washington but Trial and Lost is pretty low. Not as low as I remenber last year, but its getting there. [signature] |
