Biggest Rock Fish so far - byrumjr - 12-20-2003 [font "Arial"][size 2]Rock fishing has been great out of Oregon Inlet so far, but will get better as it gets colder. Most of the boats limit out in less than two hours, that’s with six pepole and two fish per person. The rock fish range from 10 lbs to 20 lbs. A few 30 pounders are in the mix also, but hard to catch because all of the smaller fish. The big fish so far this year is the one below on the right, it was 43 pounds. The one on the left was a 38 a pounder. Also one 39 pounder has been caught, but last year a few 50 pounders where caught. We had crazy weather this past spring an the great striper migration really didn't make it up to Albany NY. That 43 lb. fish you could put your head in it's mouth. Nice job.
