Night Bite Ririe Reservoir - Tazasorus - 07-29-2014
Headed out to Blacktail Saturday night to see if perch would show me some love at night. Got there about a hour before dark. Brought my dinner with me and watched all the boaters getting off at the same time was better than dinner and a show. Haven't seen that much sunburned white flesh in a long time. Also a large number of obviously sauced boaters. The camp host looked over at me and says,"I hate the weekends, if they would just leave the booze at home". Anyway complimented him for his hard work and unloaded my fishing boat. Got set up on a spot right at dark. First fish was a 15 inch smallee. Ended up catching a limit of trout, just a few perch, and a chub or two. Headed home about 2:00 a.m. All in all, a pretty peaceful time fishing in the dark.

I tried on meadow creek...no luck using bottom bouncer and walley wormbrig...about 8 weeks ago....caught smb....and trout.

Just an FYI - perch do not bite at night - if you happen to catch one it's usually by accident as they have poor night vission. [frown]

I am surprised that we can icefishing 24 " of ice 12 " of snow . You would think it would be pretty dark down there .

We had a post from one of the guys over Twin Falls way that this winter he had his shack out overnight and he caught perch all night long.....Maybe he had a light in the water or a lantern that attracted them. But I didn't get one bite from a perch when there. See you are never to old to learn!
