Going for the Gold - flygoddess - 09-29-2014

What can I say, it is not as easy as it sounds.

I saw the title and expected to see a post about more skinny golden trout from the Uintas.

Nice catch.

Yeah its true that they aren't easy, I have made many attempts for them myself with no luck. So what did it taste like?

Forgive me but I do have to ask, do you catch them on a "fish food flakes" pattern imitating what I feed my fish at home?

Well looks like you can cross that fish off the bucket list!!

I could have crossed it off a few years back, but I find myself targeting them as they are hard to entice on a fly.

Awesome!! I, too, was not sure after reading the title if the "Gold" would be golden trout, or these "golden bass" (I vote we start calling them that and see if who figures it out)... yes, they are tough to catch, and more than a few eyebrows have been raised when I show my Goldie photos to fishermen who think they're hot stuff and have caught every species there is to catch around here!
