Fished MacKay today. Only marked three schools of kokes today and they were gone just as fast as they showed up. Never even got a hit from a koke. We did manage 5 nice rainbows. All of which came from directly off the bottom. I'm not sure what exactly happened but it was far different from the other day. Beautiful day though.

What do you call nice rainbows from Mackay? I've heard of some big ones one year when the lake was way down but all I have caught in the past were pretty standard 10-12".
Will the ice hold a UTV? We talked about fishing from ours, that would seem fun, but the idea of drilling a hole by all four seats makes it seem like you are trying to sink it.

I fished there Sunday. Caught 2 kokanee and 2 rainbows. Fished most of the day below the campground. We were in the big double Eskimo tent. Sure was fun punchin' some holes in the ice though.
