Carp fly patterns - mudsucker - 04-04-2015 My son took a fly tying class and now he wants to catch a carp if we make it down to the banana belt this summer where carp live. What are some good patterns for him to try tying? One of those three usually does the trick. In the end I think it's more about the technique/presentation than the fly, but getting both spot on never hurts.
