loops - macanudo - 08-05-2015 I was out float tubing the other day and I met an older gentleman who was slaying the fish. We chatted and he gave me a few flies that were working for him. The interesting thing about the flies is that they each had a loop of monofilament tied to the eye. I was wondering if anyone knows what the purpose of this loop is. I thought it might be to facilitate attaching the fly to your leader, or perhaps to give the fly more action, like a rapala knot. Any ideas? BTW what flies did he give you? [signature] Re: [OldTroller] loops - macanudo - 08-08-2015 They were damsel nymphs. I haven't tried them but they look real fishy.
