New to Idaho - Skol - 02-09-2016
Im moving to Idaho for a job, and I'll be stationed in the Big Butte area. I was wondering if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction for some fishing spots, or at least bodies of water nearby. I haven't ever been to Idaho, so I am going to be pretty clueless when it comes to fishing spots. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I'm thinking right area you could look at Carey lake, Magic res., mackay res, big lost river. If you want to drive a bit further going east there is Ririe res, the snake river with north and south forks. Most those waters will have a bit of information on how to fish them and where if you do a search on the forum. Welcome to the board and look foward to some reports.

By the Big Butte will you be working at the INL? If so, you have been given some pretty good suggestions. If that is the correct area there are many others that have not been mentioned. How soon will you be here and what species interest you. I think you will find this Forum a great resource and help. Welcome to the Idaho board.

Welcome to the forum . You will be pretty close to American Falls Resivior . In the river below the Dam , there are Sturgen , Bass And Trout .

Welcome to the Eastern Idaho. Ririe reservoir has been great this winter for kokanee. Bass, perch, trout, and walleye are also in the lake. Enjoy all the fishing opportunities the area offers.
