Little Dell ice
#1
My son and I went to Little Dell to see if we could get them to bite through the ice. It was frozen up so we dragged the sled down to the lake. However the first test hole was maybe 2 inches thick. The second test hole was similar. It looked to be frozen better closer to the dam so we tested the ice there and it was about 3-4 inches on the first hole I drilled but a bit farther out and there was a crust on top, slush then an inch or two of ice. So after trudging through the deep snow I decided not to risk the ice. Maybe in a few days of good cold temps it will solidify up enough to venture out.

What do you use for lures at Little Dell since there's no bait allowed? I've always been curious about ice fishing there but never tried it do to the regulations.

That was one of the things I was going to try and figure out. I took about every ice lure I had that didn't use bait and hoped to see what worked.

I've fished little dell a couple times through the ice. I've found that a fish finder helps a bunch to know if they are there, and how they are reacting to your offering. Also, I found that a little movement will Up your odds of a strike. Also, I never set my pole down because when you do get a hit you need to be able to set the hook quick, they won't hold on very long.most of your standard ice fishing jigs seem to work pretty well. Getting the fishes attention and triggering a strike is the key, can't rely on a juicy worm or a glob of PB.

I've used small kastmasters, tube jigs, curly tail jigs, etc.. anything that looks like a small critter trying to escape.
