Pineview, Port Ramp
#1
Well that was a LOT of work for 6 crappie! They were there but they pretty much snubbed their noses at my offerings. Kinda weird because I've been doing pretty decent whenever they've been stacked like they were last night. My heater buddy was giving me troubles as well so between trying to get that going and staying warm in -6 degree temperature I did miss a few I think I normally would have caught. Still the bite was extremely slow for me last night. Oh and I used snowshoes and they worked awesome! Can't believe someone trekked all the way down the ramp from the road with sled and gear, WITHOUT snowshoes. Between the deep snow and slush on the lake, they only made it to the docks apparently. Their pack in and out must have been brutal!

Man, I'm impressed with your dedication to this ice fishing obsession. I've never done it as it looks like sooo much work. But I know the feeling of being rewarded for hard work. Enjoy.

You must have some darn good circulation going on in your feet! Those look to be regular hiking boots. Thanks for the post. I'll be taking my snow shoes tomorrow.

I'm not going to lie. My toes were icicles! Kinda disappointed in my new 1200 gram thinsulate Cabelas boots as far as warmth. My 800 gram hunting boots kept my feet warmer on the ice in -13.

I just checked this afternoon, to see if my 100 below boots would work on my snow shoes, and I think I'm in luck! I cannot stand cold feet!!! Appreciate your honesty. You were making me feel like a whimp! Wink

Try these! Never had my feet get cold ice fishing. Sat in 6" of slush at pineview and was great!!!! I used to have cold feet all the time ice fishing before I bought these. They are big though, but not heavy suprisely. Get them one size bigger that your normal shoes though or you won't get wool socks in them. [fishon]

Thanks! The ones I have now look very similar, but would not withstand 6 inches of water. They do keep my feet warm, but have about seen their days. I will mark these and will be getting a pair when I go visit Cabela's. I never order shoes/boots on line. I gotta try um to buy um!
