Swiss Cheese at the Berry
#1
Headed up to the Berry last night for a night fishing adventure. Got on the ice around 8:30. Headed over to Haws and set up the tent and drilled some holes. In short I drilled and fished probably 20 different holes trying to find a bite or a fish. 2 of us ended at 12:30 with neither. Definitely a first for me. I fished in 8' of water to 40'. I tried every jig and tip combo I had. Pretty warm night with a little snow falling. Even with those results I was happy to be up there. Luckily the snow/ice conditions were good but it looked like earlier in the day or the day before the slush monster had reared his ugly head.

Thanks for posting. Sounds like you gave it your best shot, sorry the fish didn't want to play - I can only imagine after today it only got slushier too... how thick was the ice when you were there? Was it solid at the edges?

I am sure many are hoping they might still get chance to get out somewhere at least once more this season... I know I am...

It took every inch of my auger to get to water. Between snow slush and ice I would say the ice is plenty safe. The edges were solid as well.
