Hi guys, I haven't posted any of my actual fishing trips for a while and this isn't exactly a killer day but I thought I'd share. So today my plan was to take a buddy of mine and his brother to Echo Reservoir. None of us have fished it so honestly we wanted to try it because none of us had been there. Unfortunately, the conditions had changed from someones picture's I had seen. I was hoping for some open water for us to shore fish. I didn't take any pictures of it but it was totally frozen. Not very thick obviously but there wasn't anywhere for us to fish from the shore.
So we decided to go to Rockport. We went there and my buddy caught a couple of small trout. I got the skunk
. Unfortunately we didn't stay for very long. Today was one of the coldest fishing days that I ever remember being on. I've been icefishing a few times this year at places like Strawberry and it wasn't cold. I don't know if it's because it was a windy mother on the shore but it just got to be so cold where we weren't enjoying ourselves after much time. Anyway, I attached a couple pictures of the small trout my buddy caught and the lake itself.
On Friday(2/24/2017) I went to the Ogden River for my second time in my life. Long story short, that water level is REALLY high. I had a fish on at the one spot I found that was slow enough to fish but it swam into something submerged and got my snagged. It was disappointing I lost the fish but really wasn't surprised considering all the trees are underwater with the water level right now. If I can figure out how to post video's on here, I'll post some that I took. Edit: It appears to have worked so let me know if you guys can view the videos.
