Mantua Slam 2 Mar
#1
Got my second Mantua Slam in the past couple of weeks. Started fishing about 7:30 and went home about 1. Caught a green sunfish and a bluegill in the first half hour then everything slowed down. Here's the tally for the day:

1 trout
1 perch (really small perch)
4 bluegills
2 green sunfish

Ice condition is still OK. 12+ inches with an inch or two of crusty snow on top and no slush. All fish were caught in 11 to 13 FOW.

Well done!

But no bass to round out the Mantua Slam?

Glad to hear you made it out safely again, with some good results....my wife and I drove past Mantua today on our way to Idaho, and I think I saw you smiling and holding up your "really small perch" back in the corner! Just kidding, but we could see maybe a dozen or so anglers out there, so one had to be you in that time frame....I'd like to hit it again; it's been a fun place to go this year....Guluk...

Trust me, it was so small you'd have never seen it from the hiway. Looking at the long term forcast, I think we're good up there for another week or two. One good rainstorm that puts some standing water on the ice will be the end of it.

I got the mantua slam right after you left that day. Very large numbers of fish caught but most were the very small variety. Enough large fish to make it fun. Years best for me on bass, perch, and bluegill. Had the entire lake to myself most of the evening.
