Starvation ice/open water condition?
#1
Has anyone been by Starvation recently to see if the ice is still holding on?

I'm itching to get the tube out if there is enough open water to float my boat.[Wink]

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Went past on Saturday, 3/11, and it was still mostly capped. However, there were some shore anglers fishing some small open pockets under and around the bridge. By now there could be some good open edges.

Thanks, Fish.

I guess I'd better wait awhile before I make the drive over. I'll just have to stay close to home and fish until Starvation opens up.

Tom,
My friend fished Knight Hollow on the ICE this morning if that gives you any clue as to the ice situation. It will be a while before you get your tube on that part of the reservoir.

I heard the boat ramp, knights hollow and indian bay are still iced up. The rest is open. No proof though.

I checked the lake in the Indian Bay area yesterday (Tuesday). From a distance the lake looks wide-open. There are large areas of open water and the ice that is still there has the dark green look to it.

Thanks all you guys for the help.

It looks like I can plan a trip for next week to dip the old tube.[Wink]

Drove by today and I would say it was about 80-90% clear. There was ice in some of the small bays and a large section under the highway bridge, but lots of open water I could see everywhere else.

I'm going to head over on Monday.[Smile]
