Stream in Cottonwood Heights?
#1
I took a walk today around my office which is in the Old Mill area just off 215, Exit 6 and 300 East.
I found a small trail behind the Market Street Grill and followed it West until I was under the freeway and not far from the Cotton Bottom.
I am not familiar with this area other than getting to/from my office.
I do know that on the East side of 3000 East, upstream, there is a small pond area that fills and empties with the needs of irrigation (I assume because it can be empty one day, full the next, etc.)

Does anyone know what this stream is? I assume it is part of what comes down the Cottonwood Canyon area.
Is it fishable (well, it is fishable...but are there fish in it?)....or is this stream one that fluctuates between wet & dry all year?

Does anyone know anything about this creek?

Thanks

Don't know about the area you are talking about. But up in the canyon those creeks are a lot of fun. Small browns all over the place.

Big Cottonwood. Problem with that stretch you speak of is even though it has some great looking pools, it gets dewatered and has few if any fish. You need to get down towards Walker Lane before the creek is year-round again. Then it is good fishing for mostly browns clear down to the Jordan River.
