Sat Utah lake (a little late i know)
#1
Went down west side of lake past pelican point for the first attempt at the catfish contest entry. After getting out to the deep 5 foot depth and looking at shore and looked like i was a mile away from the truck when my battery Crapped out on the toon so i decided to drift fish back to shore and and caught a 6 Channels 12 to 17 inch then low and behold i hooked what i thought was a Rocky Mountain Tarpin till it went airborne and it was a 24" channel towed me half way to shore was fun day so not bad for first entry this year.

It sounds like a you had lots of fun, thanks for the report.

It was good to hear you got one for the board, but it was also good to hear that you found some younger fish. In the last two years of cat fishing I can't count even five that I have caught that were under 18"

I was wondering, maybe even worrying a bit, if we were headed for a scarcity of channels in a few years. I had hoped it was more to do with my location and/or choice of bait.

So it may sound funny, but I'm glad to hear there is a least one school of younger channels out there.

Keep up the good work on the bigger ones too. We don't want those northern folks to get any rest[Wink]

Hey Greg you going to enter that thing or just want to rub me that you have a bigger fish than I do so far? If you're going to enter it and need help figuring out what you need to do, let me know... Later J
