Walleye in Echo?
#1
Stocking report and fishing report say they just stocked walleye in Echo? Didn't they make a big deal about finding them in that particular body of water just last year?

These will be the sterile walleye that they are hoping will reduce the spawning success of the fish that are already there.

Will be heading up there in the next few weeks to try and help thin them out a little.

Good news is that the sterile walleye will grow like weeds to large size so we will get all the fun, great eating, but their portion of the population is controllable.

Does anyone know how large these walleye were that were planted? Are they themselves bait at this point or are they big enough to pursue?

Thanks! If other fish think walleye tastes as good as we do, they just fed dinner to a whole bunch of fish! Wink

If they were planted up in the flooded brush then they will have a better chance to survive.
