Starvation Thursday
#1
Had a small "good" weather window Thursday night and decided to try for some walleye. Tried using work harnesses with bottom bouncers jigs and rapalas with no luck, not sure if I was doing it right or if it was just a bad time, after two hours of nothing I got bored so I fished a jig in the middle of the water column and caught a 19" rainbow to salvage the night. So almost skunked but came away smelling a little like fish.

Thanks for the report, how fast were you going while bottom bouncing with worm harnesses? If you were going too fast or you were using WORK harnesses, as you said[Wink], that could be the problem.

I was on a kayak with no electronics so I have no idea how fast I was going.

Walking speed is too fast. Crawler rigs want to...well, crawl. In a kayak, drifting is often just about right. At Starvie, drifting can be a warp-speed experience, though.
