Wife and I took a 2 day trip to Utah Lake this past Tuesday and Wednesday. First day got started a bit later than planned, but launched out of American Fork Boat Harbor about 11:30. Dropped anchor just west of the river outlet into the lake. Were several waders fishing, and one boat with Dad and sons right in the middle of the river current. Had our lines set less than 20 minutes and first hit was a 15" Rainbow. Measured, photoed for the Fishing Challenge and released. Then nothing for almost 2 hours. Moved around to east side of river flow, dropped anchor and within minutes we had hits on 3 poles. Wife pulled in first White Bass, kept it for cut bait later. My pole was bouncing, and her second pole was bending. We both started reeling and saw that our lines were crossed. Kept reeling, and our lines both come up out of the water with a Bull Head Cat on the end. My Gulp worm was down in his jaw, and the wife's piece of night crawler was in his lower lip. Greedy Mudder slurped up both our baits. Since mine was further down we called it my fish, so photoed it for the Fishing Challenge. Barely got that Mudder back in the water and the WB started hitting almost faster than we could get them in and unhooked. Photoed my first WB for the Fishing Challenge, then a couple back and forth between the wife and me. Got so busy, didn't get pics of all of them, but had a BLAST catchin em. Even caught several on bare hooks dropped off the boat no more than 2 or 3 feet in the water.
Called it a day and headed back into AFBH about 3:00. Good thing we did, about an hour later, clouds, wind, rain, thunder, started really coming down.
