Strawberry SC info ?
#1
[fishon]

Has anyone had any success for Kokes on the SC side ? Tried last weekend between the Narrows and the dam trolling Pink Dodgers and squids between 15 to 25 ft about 1.2 mph with no success. Finally decided to focus on Rainbows and Cuts using Pop gear. Managed a couple of Rainbows and slot cuts.

Seems most reports are coming from Strawberry Bay marina side, etc.

Any thoughts , stories , etc ?

appreciate the help.

Two weeks ago did really well on Strawberry side on Saturday. Sunday went to Soldier Creek to scout out for the DAV event and only managed 1 Koke all morning.

Last week picked the vet up at SC and ran down to Strawberry side to fish. We put 10 Kokes to the boat and kept 8 real nice ones also hit 6 cuts 3 were between 20" and 21". The folks I talked with that fished the SC side worked hard for a couple in the AM.

I am expecting this to change last year later in the summer we hammered them on Soldier Creek.

I had good results last year as well. Just when you think you have it figured out.....

From the most recent reports I believe they are much deeper now, 45 - 55 fow.

Unfortunately I have not fished the SC side for a month and a half. We have been doing pretty well on the Strawberry side. The thing I noticed was the depths you reported fishing. Since the water had heated up - surface temp today was 70*, they have moved deeper - in my opinion deeper than you can get with pop gear. Today, solo, I got my 4 at 49' and 45' on a green dodger and squid (with a spinner blade) and on a pink dodger and squid (with a spinner blade). Good luck

I went up 2 weekends ago stayed the night fished two days and had no Kokes on the end of my line only Rainbows and cutts, ended up pulling in 17 Cutts and Bows, all were caught while trolling 30 ft down on pink and orange wedding rings with maggots on the end of the hooks. Was hoping to catch kokes but everybody was saying hit up the Strawberry side.
