Bear River
#1
Decided to take the day off and take the wife fishing since I bailed on her last Saturday for the Disabled Veterans Event. (She didn't have any heartburn about that). Just didn't feel up to another skunkin at Willard, so took a drive out to the end of the road at Bear River Bird Refuge. Got setup with some worms on our lines, and just sat back to relax. Started having the typical little tug-tug of a cat trying to strip the worms. Had those the entire 3 hours we were there. When our worms ran out we packed up and went home. I managed to hook up 3 small Mud Cats, and she landed 1.
I did post the smallest one to the Cat Contest. 5 inch. Think maybe I tied up with Ahi1953 for the smallest [Wink]

Too bad the fish didn't want to cooperate. At least you caught something. Them little guys sure do love munching on your worms though.
I thought that little cat of mine was going to be tough to beat!

You'd be surprised how small the winner will be... Last year 3.25" won the coveted prize... I had one about the same size on, but it fell off as I was lifting it on shore... Thing is the little ones are getting bigger all the time, so this is one category where sooner is usually better... Have to try hard to win this contest... Good luck... J
